Thursday
26th January 2012, The Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells
The
Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme and the Renewable Heat
Incentive (RHI) means that farmers and landowners who
invest in renewable energy technologies can claim attractive
payments for the electricity and heat that they generate.
The prospect of guaranteed long-term revenue streams, limited
exposure to rising electricity prices and reduced carbon emissions
has created huge interest amongst landowners from across the
UK.
However,
for those with busy work schedules, it can be very difficult
to commit the necessary time to assess the opportunities,
decide on the best technologies to utilise and identify the
most suitable suppliers to work with.
The Renewable Energy Exchange helps resolve this issue
by providing an independent brokerage service, facilitating
meetings between those planning renewable projects and suppliers.
Participants can then make informed and timely purchasing
decisions to take full advantage of the current incentives
from the FiT and RHI schemes.
Supported by both the CLA and NFU Cymru, the Welsh FiT for
FARMING event is taking place on Thursday 26th January 2012
at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells.
This networking event provides a time-efficient opportunity
for landowners to have pre-arranged meetings with selected
technology providers and services firms, in order to evaluate
options and short-list prospective suppliers.
There will be a wide range of companies available for meetings
to discuss the viability and practicalities of potential renewable
projects, including: wind power, solar pv, hydropower, anaerobic
digestion, biomass heating, heat pumps (both ground source
and air source) and solar thermal.
Participation is free for those looking to invest in renewable
projects on their own land. On the run-up to the event all
registered participants are invited to go-online to select
which companies they would like to meet with and so create
themselves a networking programme consisting of pre-arranged
meetings and roundtable discussion groups.
Appointments are scheduled to take place between 09:30 and
16:30. However the event is designed to be flexible to the
individual needs of participants. So for example, if you purely
wish to meet with two or three companies, or if you are travelling
from afar and can only be there for a few hours during the
day, your meetings programme can be tailored accordingly.
If you are looking to invest in a renewable project on your
own land and are interested in meeting with selected technology
suppliers and advisory firms please apply
for your free place here.
If you represent a renewable technology supplier, land agent
or other advisory firm and are potentially interested in hosting
meetings with those looking to invest in renewable projects,
please
register your interest, so that we can then send you details
of the various participation options.
