The Feed-in Tariff (FiT) and the Renewable
Heat Incentive (RHI) schemes allow farmers and other
landowners who invest in renewable projects to claim
potentially attractive payments for the electricity
and heat that they generate.
However, for those with busy work schedules, it can
be very difficult to commit the necessary time to assess
the various opportunities, decide on the best technologies
to utilise and identify the most suitable suppliers
to work with.
The Renewable Energy Exchange (REX) helps to
resolve this difficulty by creating an independent
market-place that enables interested landowners
to have a series of time-efficient pre-arranged appointments
with potential suppliers. Participants can then review
their options and make well-informed decisions and so
take full advantage of the current incentives from the
FiT and RHI schemes.
This event, one of a series of networking events held
across the UK, provides a time-efficient opportunity
for landowners to have pre-arranged meetings with selected
technology providers and services firms, in order to
evaluate options and short-list prospective suppliers.
There will be a wide range of companies available for
meetings to discuss the viability and practicalities
of potential renewable projects, including: wind power,
solar pv, hydropower, anaerobic digestion, biomass heating,
heat pumps (both ground source and air source) and solar
thermal.
Participation is free for those looking to invest in
renewable projects on their own land. On the run-up
to the event all registered participants are invited
to go-online to select which companies they would like
to meet with and so create themselves a networking programme
consisting of pre-arranged meetings and roundtable discussion
groups.
Individual appointments and roundtable discussion group
sessions are scheduled to take place between 09:30 and
16:30 on the day of the event. However, the format of
the event is designed to be flexible to individual needs.
So for those who purely wish to meet with two or three
companies, or who are travelling from afar and can only
be there for part of the day, can tailor their networking
programme accordingly.
If you are looking to invest in a renewable project
on your own land and are interested in meeting with
selected technology suppliers and advisory firms, please
apply
for your free place here.
If you represent a renewable technology supplier, land
agent or other advisory firm and are potentially interested
in hosting meetings with those looking to invest in
renewable projects, please register
your interest, so that we can then send you details
of the various participation options.
You can download
more details of all the upcoming regional REX events,
together with an overview of some of the renewable technologies
that farmers are now investing in.
